Product description
Product Type: Rum
Size: 375mL
Proof: 58% Alc/Vol
Region: Caroni
Description: The legend of Caroni rum lives on. Once the powerhouse of Trinidad, the Caroni Distillery was shuttered in 2002 and dismantled, leaving behind an almost mythical reputation among collectors and enthusiasts. Rising from its ashes, Caroni has become one of the most iconic and cult-worthy rums in the world—difficult to find, nearly impossible to secure in the U.S., and now proudly presented as the very first Caroni release by an American independent bottler.
Distilled in 1997, aged 12 years under the blazing Trinidad sun and an additional 15 years in the UK, this extraordinary rum carries nearly three decades of character. Unlike many “super heavy” Caroni casks that lean toward burnt rubber, diesel, and leather, this carefully selected barrel offers a more refined balance. Expect lush tropical fruits, deep caramel, and fragrant tobacco harmonizing with the distillery’s signature industrial edge. Bottled at a natural 58% cask strength with no additives, Perennia captures both the raw history and elegance of Caroni in one unforgettable pour.
This release is more than rum—it’s a piece of history, a once-in-a-lifetime chance to taste the legacy of Trinidad’s lost distillery.
