A Considered Selection｜400 Conejos Reposado Mezcal｜ Other Products

Reposado is 400 Conejos with two months in oak — the rested version of Mexico's best-selling mezcal, named for the Centzon Totochtin, the Four Hundred Rabbit gods of Aztec drunkenness, one of whom was said to inhabit every drink. It's made in Santiago Matatlán, the mezcal capital of Oaxaca, from 100% espadín agave cooked in a traditional conical earthen oven over wood, fermented, distilled in small batches, and then rested about two months in oak barrels before bottling at 40% ABV, which lends a pale straw color and a softening of the smoke. Expect roasted agave and a light woodsmoke on the nose with a whisper of vanilla and caramel from the barrel, opening into a smooth, gently sweet palate where the oak rounds the espadín's herbal edge and the smoke sits in the background, finishing soft with a faint caramel note. Honest reception: Mezcal Reviews' enthusiasts find it mild, barely smoky, and more tequila-like than the joven — bland to some, decent and smooth to others — and steer sippers toward the Cuishe or Añejo. That's fair: the reposado is the gateway bottle, built for drinkers who want mezcal with the edges sanded off. For a Mezcal Old Fashioned, a smoky Margarita with a softer profile, or a first neat pour for someone new to the category, it does the job. Approachable, affordable, and rested just enough.Buy 400 Conejos Reposado Mezcal online with fast shipping right to your door.
